Not every sanctioned USA Fencing Tournament will be approved by our Long Island Fencers Club.  Approval by our fencing club approval depends on several factors, including the host's proven ability to manage fencing tournaments.  Next, the Long Island Fencers Club will consider if there is a beneficial nature of our fencer's attendance and the availability of our coaching staff.

Finally, fencers wishing to participate in approved fencing tournaments can contract for our coaching services at the tournament.  The coaching fee will be based upon the competition or competitions each fencer registers to fence and the travel fees associated with our coach's attendance.  Fencers may or may not elect to participate in our coaching services but should know that our coaching staff will actively coach those who have contracted for our services.

You may attend non-approved fencing tournaments.  The fencer must have a competitive membership to participate in a sanctioned USA fencing tournament.  The fencer must also be eligible to do so based on several factors, such as Age,… gender,… rating,… prior tournament participation, and/or geographical location.  The fencer must register online.  This function must be completed and paid for by each fencer independent of the club.

Participation in Fencing Tournaments is divided into the registration and event fees.  Some tournaments additionally charge an Administration fee.  Each fencer must pay the tournament registration fee and an additional event fee for the competitions they wish to fence in and qualify for.  For example,…  A 12-year-old sabre fencer wishes to compete at a Super Youth Fencing tournament.  That fencer could potentially fence in the Youth 12 and Youth 14 sabre events.  If a fencer chooses to do so, they would pay two event fees to fully complete the online registration process.

If you wish to attend any event, you should register as quickly as possible, as registration fees are based upon when you register.  Each tournament has a Regular… Late and close of Registration.  Late Registrations are Triple Fees, which are relatively expensive.  Please inform our staff when you register to fence in any tournament outside the club.

As a fencing club, we post links to club activities, club dinners, host hotels, travel plans, various tournaments, and other such areas of general interest to our membership.  Our membership is under no obligation to participate in any of these functions.  We provide this information as a service to our membership to better facilitate their participation if so desired.

As a side note, Long Island Fencers Club students are encouraged to attend our fencing classes as often as possible. Excellent attendance at fencing classes improves a fencer's results at fencing tournaments.
