What is a “Mega Open Fencing” session?
A “Mega Open Fencing” session lets fencers from one club fence at another club during open fencing hours. This approach is unique to the Long Island Fencers’ Club, as we are the only club on Long Island that operates two separate fencing locations, allowing for this kind of crossover experience.
How does the “Mega Open Fencing” session benefit the participants?
Mega Open Fencing lets fencers compete with people outside their usual practice group. This creates a dynamic, tournament-like atmosphere that helps to broaden their experience and sharpen their competitive edge.
Do the other weapons still participate in the Open Fencing session?
No, our Mega Open Fencing session was a huge success! Presently, our Patchogue location hosts six strips, and our Huntington location hosts seven strips.

The Long Island Fencers Club offers Personalized Fencing Lessons for the three (3) fencing disciplines (epee, foil and sabre). A popular belief is that it takes ten (10) thousand hours of intensive practice to achieve mastery of complex skills and materials. Still, this hypothesis is dependent upon proper execution through focused instruction.

The Long Island Fencers Club has invested many hours in developing a unique and comprehensive video library, emphasizing educating our Fencing Club members and their families. Parents and Fencers are invited to participate in our video clinics as they desire. Fencing Clinics are never mandatory.
Students of the Long Island Fencers Club experience a series of audio collections that play during each of our Fencing Classes, emphasizing various music genres, cultures, ethnicities, and/or languages. We believe this encourages acceptance and embraces the wonderful traditions celebrated worldwide.
The selection of music styles is coordinated to enhance each instructional block of our sessions. Our Fencing Club training sessions include stretching, footwork, blade work, and fencing. In our stretching session, students are surrounded by a mellow music style to encourage relaxation as they stretch.
As we enter the footwork instructional session, our audio collections transition into music selections from various genres, cultures, ethnicities, and/or languages.
Our Audio Collection includes Celtic, Chinese, Classic Rock, Classical, Columbian, German, Hindi, Italian, Oldies (60’s & 70’s), and Polish. We are continually expanding our collection and encourage your input.
The Long Island Fencers Club provides a superior environment and unique experience for our members and their families. Fencing Clubs should be fun!
